Terrible Television Ads in the UK

Over the years there have been many fantastic advertising campaigns hit our screens, whether you are in America, Japan or in the UK like myself there are ads out there that you are genuinely impressed by. On the other hand, it is safe to say that there are some really awful adverts out there and these are some of the worst ones.
Terrible Nintendo Advert Featuring Jedward
Let’s do something exciting… FANCY BATTLING A DRAGON!? I fancy killing myself now Jedward, thanks. This advert (relatively new here in the UK) is the inspiration for this post, not only is it everything you don’t want in an advert it has two of the most annoying Z list celebrities in Britain in it. What were Nintendo thinking? A word of advice before watching, you will cringe, a lot.
The Halifiax Adverts
f no one remembers these adverts then that is actually down to the hours of therapy you have gone through to try and forget the awful Howard with his rather annoying glasses and singing. Turns out banks got their payback for this kind of rubbish.
Another Bad Nintendo Advert: JLS

Okay, I am by no means a Nintendo hater having owned all of the consoles since the SNES but their adverts don’t get any better with this post. How did this slip through the standards agency, what are JLS doing? Playing the Wii or playing with their Wii’s? Shocking stuff!
CILLIT BANG!!
This one is a bad advert simply because the guy is shouting everything he says and is incredibly cheesy. I have to admit; this is the advert on the list that doesn’t actually make me cringe but gives me a good laugh. Check out one of the many remixes underneath too

We Buy Any Car
WE GET IT, YOU BUY ANY CAR! This advert is one of those adverts that just makes you want to run into a brick wall, head first, every time you see or in this case, hear it. Do yourself a favour and never watch this advert again.
They’re Gonna Taste Great!
This rather annoying Frosties advert was one of the most cringe worthy adverts on television for quite some time and I have to say, I haven’t eaten Frosties in a while…
Ending On A High

For comic relief in 2009 the top advertising figures in Britain were put together in one room for some pretty amusing results.
One thing to think about, all of these adverts are very memorable, the songs stick in your heads, the characters known instantly, does this mean that they are all good advertisements?
