1 in 5 Divorces Blamed on Facebook: Did You See This?
Written by Oprah Fangirl on October 14th, 2010 in Wayward Thoughts.
I had no idea Facebook affairs were getting this bad. I mean, I know a lot of people cheat these days, and Facebook makes cheating easier for a cheater. But is it really making what would otherwise be faithful husbands and wives cheat? And is it really responsible for 1 in 5 divorices, or is it just mentioned in 1 in 5 divorce cases because divorce lawyers are using it to demonize the other party? And what, exactly, is a Facebook affair? Do you have to actually meet the person for it to be considered an affair? Back in my day (no, I’m really not that old) flirting was just flirting. It wasn’t an affair until some kind of physical contact happened.
I’ve started watching a lot of my television online these days. I can’t wait to get a new Google-enabled TV so my Internet and Television will finally be married. Hopefully they won’t cheat on each other with Facebook.
