Did You Have a Past Life?

Did you have a past life? What about a “life between lives” ? Two things I’ve become very interested in lately are regression therapy (past life regression through hypnosis or hypnotherapy) and between lives regression (BLR). It’s fascinating to ponder the idea that your conscious “being” is born again and again into different vessels.
But why is it that all of these people who claim to have lived past lives
are always claiming to be someone famous – like a queen, inventor or emperor?
Do I honestly think that I’ve had past lives? Yes and No.
I DO think that the embodied energy represented by my current lifeform had to come from somewhere, possibly from living beings in the past. That is just a simple law of Conservation of Energy, which in more specific form is the first law of Thermodynamics: Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; it only changes form.
But I DO NOT think that our consciousness travels with us from one life to the next. If part of my “energy” goes to feed a plant when I’m buried and decompose; and part of it feeds a worm; and part of it goes into the atmosphere as different gasses are released… which part of that energy does my conscious mind or “soul” choose to follow?
What’s your take on all of this? Legitimate healing therapy or hogwash? Are you open minded enough to consider that perhaps, just maybe, we don’t know all that we think we know? If you are religious, do you believe that you know exactly what God has in store for us or how he goes about keeping the Universe moving along? Are there souls in Heaven waiting for us to join them, or are all of the souls going to climb that stairway at the same time? If that be the case, where are the souls that existed in human vessels thousands of years ago? Are they underground? Are they simply sleeping? Or did they move along into other vessels?
Perhaps some past life regression therapy would help me answer some of these questions…
